Three Rivers Community Action is a Community Housing Development Organization with a mission to create and preserve affordable housing throughout the twenty counties of Southeast and South Central Minnesota. Three Rivers has built or rehabilitated over 430 units of affordable workforce rental housing, often utilizing intricate financing mechanisms and assembling numerous sources for each project. After development, Three Rivers oversees the operations of the projects and ensures the long-term affordability of the housing.
Three Rivers recently completed three rental housing projects.
Spring Creek Townhomes in Northfield is providing 28 new townhomes for families in Northfield. The units are located on the south end of town, close to schools and immediately adjacent to the soccer fields. Check out project photos here.
Prairiewood Townhomes brought 30 new family rental housing units to Faribault, where the demand for 3 & 4-bedroom units is strong. The neighborhood project consists of 10 buildings with a mix of size and styles to meet the needs of a variety of families. Construction was completed in late spring of 2014. Photos of the project can be found here.
Northbridge Apartments in Albert Lea is a preservation project where Three Rivers acquired and renovated 48 apartments, allowing us to preserve rental assistance that enhance the affordability for the residents. Building improvements included new mechanical systems, energy efficient lighting and appliances, kitchen and bathroom upgrades, accessibility improvements, landscaping and a new playground. Construction was completed in October 2013 and you can view photos of the work here.
