This is a list of memory loss or caregiver support groups in Goodhue, Rice, or Wabasha Counties. For information on support groups in other counties or for a specific disease or condition, please call one of our advocates. If your group is not listed, please call Randi Callahan or Carla Pearson and to add your memory loss or caregiver support group to the list.

Wabasha County

Lake City:

Caregiver Support Group: 4th Thursday of the month from 10:00am - 11:00am at the Lake City Library.  Facilitated by Emma Onawa.  This group targets spouses who are caring for an individual with memory loss or dementia.  For more information: emmaonawa@unetus.com or 651-345-3737.

Grief Support Group:  2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 10:30am - 12:00pm.  The group welcomes anyone experiencing any type of loss.  Facilitated by Kathy Bang, MSW, LISW, at First Lutheran Church, 100 Peace Ridge (off of Hwy 63).  For more information: 651-385-3410

Wabasha - St. Elizabeth's Medical Center:

Alzheimer's Support Group:  2nd Wednesday of the month from 2:00pm - 3:00pm.  The group primarily targets caregivers and family members of individuals with dementia-related illnesses.  For more information: Karen.evers@ministryhealth.org or 651-565-4581.

Grief Support Series:  Mayo Clinic Hospice facilitates a series in the Spring and Fall.  For more information and upcoming sessions:  Mindy Wise at 800-506-5519.

Rice County

Northfield:

Three Links Caregiver Support Group:  2nd Wednesday of the month from 4:00pm - 5:00pm.  Offering support and resources to those who provide care for a loved one, and welcomes all caregivers and interested family members.  Emphasis on dementia.  For more information:  Tana Kelly 507-664-8821.

Memory Cafe:  The development of this group is in process.  2nd Wednesday of every month.  Date & Time TBD.  Northfield Senior Center is starting a new Memory Cafe.  The cafe is open to anyone who is experiencing early stages of dementia and their care partner and will meet.  Senior Center membership is not necessary.  Facilitated by Breanna Wheeler.  For more information: Northfield Senior Center 507-664-3700.

Faribault:

Milestone Senior Living Caregiver Support Group:  4th Tuesday of the month from 6:30pm - 8:00pm.  Offering support and resources to those who provide care for a loved one, and welcomes all caregivers and intersted family members.  Facilitated by Brenda Johnson.  For more information: 507-332-7357

Goodhue County

Red Wing:

Men Only Group (Men as Caregivers):  2nd Thursday of the month from 9:00am - 10:00am at Pier 55.  This support and information group is for men who are the long-term care provider for a spouse or other person.  All related topics associated with this responsibility are open for discussion.  Facilitated by Nick Even.  For more information:  651-327-2255.

Family Caregiver Support Group:  4th Thursday of the month from 1:00pm - 2:30pm at Pier 55.  Offering support and resources to those who provide care for a loved one, this Faith In Action sponsored group welcomes all caregivers and intersted family members.  Facilitated by Marcia Hislop.  For more information: 651-327-2255.

Parkinson's Support Group:  3rd Thursday of the month from 2:00pm - 4:00pm at Pier 55.  The group welcomes family, caregivers or anyone who has Parkinson's.  Join us.  Facilitated by Pat Kernan & Patrice O'Reilly.  For more information:  651-327-2255.

Caregiver Support Group:  2nd & 4th Monday of the month from 1:00pm - 2:30pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church.  This group welcomes all individuals caring for someone with memory loss or dementia.  Respite is offered if requested.  Facilitated by Rosemary Van Houten & Pat Kimble.  For more information: 507-356-2999.
