1/14/19 Express Route Driver – Hiawathaland Transit – Northfield – $16.50-$18.75/hour

We plan to expand Express Route hours of service in Northfield and are currently seeking 1-2 Transit Operators (bus drivers) to cover these shifts with minimal time off: 4:00-11:00pm Monday-Friday; 12:00-6:00pm Saturday; and 3:00-6:00pm Sunday. Starting rate is $17.50/hour if individual has CDL with Passenger Endorsement; otherwise, starting rate is $16.50/hour. Extra $1.25/hour on weekends and after 6:00pm Monday-Friday.

Hiawathaland Public Transportation is administered by Three Rivers Community Action, Inc., a non-profit agency providing economic opportunities that strengthen individuals, families and communities in southeastern Minnesota.

Excellent benefit package if hired full time (30+ hours per week).  

Drug testing required before and during employment.

Responsibilities:  

  • Safely operate and maintain transit vehicle, following all traffic laws and Federal/State regulations for commercial motor vehicles
  • Communicate courteously and effectively with passengers and the public
  • Cater to specialized needs of senior citizens, persons with disabilities, etc.
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Attend required meetings and training

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Class C Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement (must be obtained within 6 months of hire date)
  • Current DOT Medical Examiners Certificate (“Med Card”)
  • Prefer 1.5 - 2 years professional driving experience
  • Prefer public bus driving experience and familiarity with FTA, FMCSA and DOL regulations, documentation requirements, etc.
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and log sheets
  • Prefer knowledge of:
  • Roads and major activity centers in Northfield;
  • Use of handicapped lift and security devices;
  • State and highway safety rules and regulations; and
  • Daily maintenance checks (pre- and post-trip inspections);
  • Demonstrate compassion for riders and rider safety
  • Ability to complete training in these areas:
    • Passenger Assistance
    • Maltreatment Awareness
    • Defensive Driving
    • First Aid/CPR

1/7/19  Transit Team Leader/Coordinator – Hiawathaland Transit – Red Wing 

Transit Team Leader/Coordinator will lead a team of full time and part time Transit Operators (bus drivers) who help people of all ages get safely to places around Red Wing – school, work, grocery store, doctor’s office, pharmacy, library – and sometimes even between cities in the region.

Hiawathaland Public Transportation is administered by Three Rivers Community Action, Inc., a non-profit agency providing economic opportunities that strengthen individuals, families and communities in southeastern Minnesota.

Regular weekday bus routes plus 7-day-a-week Dial-A-Rides (except major holidays).  Full Time with excellent benefit package.  Drug testing required before and during employment.

Position Summary:

The Transit Team Leader/Coordinator will recruit and hire new Transit Operators; supervise Operators; provide extensive training for both new and existing Operators; develop transit driving service schedules in compliance with FTA, FMCSA and DOL regulations; modify schedules due to absenteeism, equipment breakdown, etc.; verify driver logs and monitor pre/post trip inspection forms; conduct and document on-board observations of Transit Operators; and complete a variety of other supervisory, training and administrative responsibilities. The Team Leader/Coordinator will be part of a team that includes other Coordinators, a Public Transit Program Manager and the agency’s Transportation Director. Qualifications:

  • 4 year degree in business/management or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supervising and training 5+ people
  • Strongly prefer public bus driving experience and familiarity with FTA, FMCSA and DOL regulations, documentation requirements, etc.
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Instructor Certification and train staff on topics such as First Aid, CPR, Child Passenger Safety, Passenger Assistance, Defensive Driving, Maltreatment Awareness, etc.

Position Summary: The Senior Programs Specialist is responsible for the Home Delivered Meals program in assigned counties which involves completing home visit assessments; seeking and managing volunteers; performing reporting, survey and administrative tasks; and speaking in public. The Specialist will also advocate for older adults and caregivers with an emphasis on empowering clients to remain in their homes. The Specialist will be part of a team that includes a Senior Programs Coordinator and a Community Development Director.   • Bachelor’s degree in social work or relevant field; sufficient case management and/or service coordination work experience may allow for flexibility regarding field of study
  • One to three years of progressive, relevant work experience, preferably with seniors 
  • Ability to make decisions that require an understanding of policies, regulations and the senior population
  • Ability to resolve complex and difficult problems/conflicts with limited assistance and quickly adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to work with the public, articulate ideas and work with diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
  • Self-motivated, confident individual with ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally (in person and via cell/landline phone) and in writing; fluency in a language, in addition to English, is preferred

10/29/18 Coordinated Entry Navigator / Deadline: November 14, 2018 or until filled.  Hiring Range:  $12.50-16.00, Full Time, Non-exempt. Three Rivers Community Action, Inc., a private non-profit corporation located in Zumbrota, Minnesota, is currently seeking a Coordinated Entry Navigator. The Coordinated Entry Navigator is part of the Continuum of Care team, which supports a broad multi-agency response system for people experiencing homelessness/housing crises. The Coordinated Entry Navigator will play a key role in creative problem-solving to help individuals and families access or maintain housing.  Primary activities include:

  • Developing and maintaining working knowledge of housing, employment, and services programs in the region
  • Speaking to clients to understand assets and needs to resolve housing crises and identify potential solutions
  • Helping clients collect documentation of eligibility and prepare applications for housing, employment, or services
  • Making warm referrals for mainstream and community-based services before or after finding housing
  • Recording all referral activities and outcomes in the Homeless Management Information System (database)
  • Working with Coordinated Entry and Continuum of Care staff to continually improve referral processes and outcomes

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience with case management/service coordination or nonprofit customer service/intake, preferably with programs serving people experiencing homelessness (Associate’s degree/ some college in a related field may be accepted in lieu of experience)
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish or other common language in service area preferred
