To schedule a ride, call our dispatch center between the hours of:
Monday - Friday: 5:00 am - 7:00 pm
Saturday: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
 

Hiawathaland Transit is operated by Three Rivers, and is available to everyone for any reason. People of all ages ride our buses to go places like school, work, the grocery store, doctor's office, pharmacy, or library. Our buses can transport anyone anywhere within city limits!  Contact Hiawathaland Transit for more information about specific services.

In some cities, Hiawathaland Transit has established routes that serve the majority of the city limits.  Riders may get on the route(s) at their own discretion; pre-scheduled route deviations are also available.  In other communities, A Dial-A-Ride bus is available (please note: in cities where both route and Dial-A-Ride exist, some eligibility restrictions do apply to the Dial-A-Ride service).  Please see below for more information about what is available in your area:

We operate on a first come, first served basis.  Please make reservations 24 hours in advance if possible. We can take requests for rides up to six days in advance.
Schedules are subject to change.  Traffic and weather conditions may delay buses.

Fares

Route: One-way ride- $1.25
Dial-A-Ride: One-way ride- $1.75
EXACT FARES ONLY!  DRIVERS DO NOT MAKE CHANGE.

Passes and Tokens

Dial-A-Ride Tokens: $1.75 each
Route Tokens: $1.25 each
Faribault-Northfield Connect Tokens: $3.50 each
Monthly Student Pass (Routes Only): $20.00 to and from school only (under 18)
Monthly Pass (Routes Only): $31 (youth/seniors 55+) and $38 (all other adults)
Children 2 and under ride free with paying adult.  Maximum 1 free child per paying adult.

Additional Information

  • Each bus is handicap accessible.
  • Assistants accompanying a person with disabilities ride FREE.
  • Drivers do not assist individuals into homes, apartment buildings, or businesses.
  • Tokens are encouraged. Drivers DO NOT make change.
  • Passengers are required to pay their fare BEFORE their ride and will be charged for any no-call no-shows.
  • Buses DO NOT enter trailer/mobile parks, apartment complexes, or other multi-use/multi-family dwellings.
  • No food, beverages, or smoking on the bus.
  • Drivers do not assist passengers with packages. The number of packages shall be limited to what a passenger can independently carry on, and off, the bus in a single trip, and only those which can be properly and safely secured. Items brought onto the bus must remain with the passenger at all times and may not take up seats needed for additional passengers and may not block or obstruct the aisle(s) or area where wheelchairs are secured. All packages or parcels must be secured in such a way that no article would come loose and move about the cabin freely should the vehicle come to a sudden, unexpected stop.
  • 24 hour advance notice is encouraged for any ride needing the use of the lift as space is limited.

There is NO service on the following Holidays

Hiawathaland Transit will be closed in observance of the following holidays in 2022:

January 1, 2022 - New Years Day
April 16, 2022 - Easter Sunday
May 30, 2022 - Memorial Day
July 4th, 2022 - 4th of July
September 5th, 2022 - Labor Day
November 24th & 25th, 2022 - Thanksgiving (and Friday after)
December 24th, 2022 - Christmas Eve
December 25th, 2022 - Christmas Day
December 31, 2022 - New Years Eve
