If you live in any of the following situations:
- In a shelter
- Motel or campground
- Car, park, abandoned building, or train or bus station
- Doubled up/couch hopping
You may qualify for certain rights and protections under the federal McKinney-Vento Act. Under the McKinney-Vento Act, each child or youth experiencing homelessness must have “equal access to the same free, appropriate public education, including a public preschool education,” as other children and youth.
